Backyard Sports offers an innovative concept in soccer training for boys and girls. The program, which runs January thru April, combines high level skill instruction with an emphasis on fun and the appropriate life lessons that competitive team sports offer.
Sessions will include progressive skill instruction and modified game play. Emphasis will be placed on ball control, movement and an understanding of the rules of the game. Topics include:

• Dribbling and juggling with emphasis on change of speed and direction
• Passing and receiving
• Shooting and the development of aggressive shooting attitudes
• Movement and spatial awareness on the field
• Agility and speed
  

Our curriculum is uniquely designed to not only teach the tactical aspects of soccer, but allows our players to gain confidence and develop appropriate winning attitudes. Most importantly, our sessions will nurture a love of game which will keep the player involved in the game for years to come.

Each class will begin with a creative warm up followed by a skill lesson. Technique will be reinforced by appropriate game play and challenges. Players of all levels of ability will be able to develop their talents at their own pace and comfort.

Players will receive instruction from teacher coaches and local varsity athletes that are 100% committed to the development of the young athlete. They are uniquely trained to identify and reinforce teachable moments in sport that are often overlooked. Each member of our staff brings passion, energy, and wants to be a role model to your son or daughter.

Freshman (pre-k, Kindergarten)	$420.00	12 weeks/1 hr sessions
Jr. Varsity (grades 1-5)	$540.00	12 weeks/1 hr sessions
Varsity Pick-Up (grades 4-10)	** No Charge	12 weeks/90 min sessions
BYS Plus (All grades)	$540.00	12 weeks/1 hr sessions

** In lieu of a fee for the Varsity Pick-Up program, please consider a voluntary contribution of any amount payable to Amazing Afternoons Inc., a non profit program that provides after school enrichment and athletic activities for children at the Edward Williams School in Mt. Vernon.
